First Western Divine Fortress capture

September 25, 2009: Spotlights were on Suthran Server. The first abyssal fortress has been captured. The abyssal war has began. During months, this war evolved. It started with some small skirmishes (one alliance against one another one) but quickly turned into huge battles, where a half thousand of players, spread between the two factions, fought for the supremacy. And the pace of battles became faster and faster. The two sides are balanced, however Asmodians slowly but surely got the upper hand on Elyos.

February 2010: The legion Origine online organized some reconnaissance missions during two sieges. Then, the legions Option and BabyBoyz joined their forces to them. 34% of life have been taken to the Guardian, but the tries have to be stopped...

March 2010: Demobilisation and mustering. The face of RvR on Suthran changed! This was no longer a fight between a handfull of Elyos legions against Asmodians which were always more. Finally, this was now really faction against faction: Elyos legions mustered their forces after the last victories of Asmodae. Within 2 weeks an alliance was build to gather thirty legions.Then the counter offensive began. Asmodians were wiped by numerous Elyos: reconquest of the abyss was achieved by about five hundred Elyos. Thanks to this victory, the Elyos alliance could stare at the Divine fortress. Previous tries and tactics based on them were very usefull. It allowed anybody to get used to the work easily. This was a big challenge but motivation was here!

April 11, 2010: The event has been prepared since several days. A never seen mustering has been achieved: more than thirty alliances from about fifty legions took off and headed for the Divine fortress. Guardian's life quickly decreased... but, after five minutes of fight, Miren Fortress was lost to Asmodians. Decision was made to defend Krotan and Kysis fortresses. Only three alliances stayed to fight the Guardian while the rest of the Elyos army head for the top of the abyss. Krotan was saved when the Dux had only 2% life left! Everybody finally came back to the Divine fortress where the three courageous alliances have done the job. Guardian was unable to regenerate its hit points even if one hour has been lost far away from the Divine fortress. However, nobody wanted to give up and Guardian's hit points reached 27%, eight minutes left but suddenly the server restarted.

April 17, 2010: Encouraged by the success of the week before, and after a lot of communication, the Elyos army mustered on Saturday evening once again. This was succesfull and only Asteria and Miren were lost to Asmodians. Unfortunately, for the first time the Asmodian army head for the Divine fortress. Two resets of the Guardian will be provoked by their presence. One at 66%, the Guardian came back full life. The second at 23% where Guardian's hit points were back to 73%. Disappointed by the events, Elyos swore that they will be back!

April 24, 2010: Suthran strikes back! Divine Fortress is captured by Elyos for the first time on Western Servers.

"It's tonight!" Each Elyos had this in mind. In the afternoon, call to arms was issued: Forga (Origine online) was mustering our faction. You could almost feel the tension as time passed: Will the Divine fortress be under siege this evening? 8:00 pm! Yes, it will... Sigh of relief. The last details were discussed between officers while the defense of the first part of the evening was set up.

As time was running, Elyos were more and more at Teminon. Everybody knew his jobs and the tasks to be completed. Waves of Elyos headed for Krotan Fortress first, then for Flaming Hell artifact. Every minute new Elyos met up with the huge army which had already swooped down on the Eye of Reshanta. A few alliances had to stay on the top of the abyss to hold back Asmodians.
A handfull of seconds before the assault, the Elyos army stood in front of the gates of the Divine fortress... More than twenty alliances from dozen of legions have answered to the call...


23 alliances were mustered this saturday evening even if it was a double XP week-end.

10:00 pm. Assault began! The outer doors of the fortress were destroyed quickly, followed soon by the inner doors. Every Elyos rushed into the fortress. Balaur defenders were killed. Hundred of kisk were summoned, and they will be useful... Indeed, you might not be afraid about death when you challenge the Guardian of the Divine Fortress. Ereshkigal's Claw, keeper of that place, spawned finally. Everybody knew where he should be and what he should do. The battle could rage, a long-drawn-out fight!

First phases of the fight were known by everybody, so that was easy. Hit points of the keeper quickly decreased under the attacks of the Elyos.







Then, when the difficulty of the battle increased, bad news : Asmodians and the Dreadgion were both attacking Siel's Western Fortress. Alliances dedicated to restrain our opponents, led by Lolaa (Option) and Urumi (Asura Strike) engaged the enemy even if they knew that the battle was already lost. Their goal was only to spare time. Ereshkigal's Claw unleashed his power, Elyos were killed by hundred and in the mean time Siel's Western fortress was lost to Asmodians. They were too strong. Asteria Fortress became the back-up position for the defenders. But reinforcements were on their way. Alliances from Millenium, BabyBoyZ, Legend and Sanctis Tirith led by Azzura, Yuuga, Assyl and Guedgued met up with Lolaa and Urumi's task force. They stood and Asmodians were defeated. Once again sight of relief... but fate was cruel tonight: A new dredgion appeared and headed for Asteria Fortress. Our courageous defenders were unable to stand against two mortal enemies : Balaurs and Asmodians. However their sacrifice was useful : they have held back Asmodians far away from the Divine fortress for one hour and Asteria was lost to Balaurs. Their come back to the Divine fortress was much appreciated because the worse part of the fight has just begun. The keeper's life was about 50% but he became more and more lethal!

At this stage, the situation got worse every minute: Elyos had to manage their fight against the Guardian but also against numerous Balaur reinforcements. At this instant, Asmodians, strenghtened by their victory in the other layers of the Abyss, joined the battle. Without any disctinction, each of the three factions struggled for her survival and the doom of her enemies. But Elyos stood! Our positions in the fortress were strong, even if artifacts were activated by the legions of Pandemonium and our rear guard was decimated by Asmodian assassins. All of this slowed Sanctum forces down and fed the carnage with new deaths.
A new opponent arrived in the battle... Time! Time was inexorably running, as each bit of Keeper's life was taken less and less quickly and the number of deaths grew every second. But the willing of everybody, and the self-sacrifice of the officers encouraging Elyos under their teaching, have never weakened. Twenty minutes left, and Guardian's hit points were about 25%... and he had several new spells in store.Although those were deadly, these spells were unable to weaken the furious energy of the attackers, really determined to win this battle against him, Asmodians and time. His life decreased regularly  and Elyos felt hopeful again because everybody was aware that victory was at our fingertips. 10 minutes left and 10% to go  ... 5 minutes ... 5% ... Everybody did his best! 2%... 1%... And finally ...

11:53pm: Keeper and fortress are down! The Divine fortress belongs to Elyos, 2 minutes before the end of the siege! Burst of joy among Elyos ranks! How to describe our feelings? Let's guess dances and songs (emotes), let's guess shouts of joy on vocal channels, on every chat channel; Think about several GM and CM, who after 2 hours observing us, on invisible mode, appear to congratulate us. We have gone through a trial of 2 hours, a trial of several weeks. And we have done it all together!

It's done. The Divine fortress belongs to Elyos and before the 1.9 release : our alliance is victorious and its name appears on Eye of Reshanta which becomes green for the first time in Western countries. Suthran Elyos Alliance, which gather the representatives of our legions, owns from now on the Divine Fortress and bear the torch of our victory. This achievement is the one of an entire server. This ultimate challenge has achieved by hundred of players associated with us or who just came to participated in, sometimes without any other ambition that challenging themselves, all together.
